Iota Virginis

Iota Virginis (ι Vir, ι Virginis) is a star in the constellation Virgo. It has the traditional name Syrma.

Syrma is a yellow star of apparent magnitude 4.08 and spectral class F6 III about 70 light years from Earth. This star has 1.52 times the mass of the Sun, with a projected rotational velocity of 14.8 km s–1. It is radiating 8.6 times the luminosity of the Sun from its outer atmosphere at an effective temperature of 6,282 K. The radius is about 2.5 times that of the Sun.
