Inu Yasha: Feudal Combat - Reception

Reception

The game was met with mixed criticism from various game critics. With aggregated scores of 52% from Metacritic and GameRankings. Critics from sites like Gamespot and IGN criticized the game calling the combat system simplistic, the story mode short and uninteresting, and the environments bland and confined. The television series X-Play gave the game a two out of five citing "This is strictly for fans of the series, and it's painfully obvious that more thought and effort went into the visuals and script than did the core play mechanics".

However, the game was praised for its graphics and its feel of the Feudal Japanese environment. The series Judgement Day praised the game for its visuals and its melee system. Prompting Tommy Tallarico to state "When I talk about disliking 2-D fighters, cause they haven't done anything innovative in twenty years. This is what I'm taking about, a game like this takes this style and pushes the envelope. It does something new, unique, fresh. It gets you excited about playing the game".

Famous quotes containing the word reception:

I gave a speech in Omaha. After the speech I went to a reception elsewhere in town. A sweet old lady came up to me, put her gloved hand in mine, and said, “I hear you spoke here tonight.” “Oh, it was nothing,” I replied modestly. “Yes,” the little old lady nodded, “that’s what I heard.”
    Gerald R. Ford (b. 1913)

But in the reception of metaphysical formula, all depends, as regards their actual and ulterior result, on the pre-existent qualities of that soil of human nature into which they fall—the company they find already present there, on their admission into the house of thought.
    Walter Pater (1839–1894)

To aim to convert a man by miracles is a profanation of the soul. A true conversion, a true Christ, is now, as always, to be made by the reception of beautiful sentiments.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
