International Christian Churches - Leadership Positions

Leadership Positions

The positions are listed from greatest to least.

  • World Missions Evangelist: The World Missions Evangelist is the lead evangelist for the entire movement. He leads alongside a group of prominent leaders. The current World Missions Evangelist is Kip McKean, who also founded the movement.
  • Central Leadership Council: The Central Leadership Council (CLC) is a group of prominent male and female leaders in the ICC. The Council was chosen, with much prayer, by Kip and Elena McKean. The CLC alongside the World Missions Evangelist make all the decisions of the movement.
  • Missions Evangelist: A Missions Evangelist is an evangelist who leads more than 1 congregation. Currently Chris Broom and Andrew Smellie are Missions Evangelists. Broom leads the Orange County region of the City of Angels International Christian Church and was appointed Missions Evangelist at the 2011 Global Leadership Conference. Smellie leads the New York City International Christian Church and was appointed at the 2012 Global Leadership Conference, Smellie will also lead the mission team to Johannesburg.
  • Evangelist: (AKA Lead Evangelist) The Evangelist leads a congregation and is usually in charge of preaching. Evangelist may be moved from one congregation to another depending on need. Some Evangelists are also part of the CLC.
  • Women's Ministry Leaders: These women are usually the Evangelist's wife who leads the Women's Ministry within a congregation. They usually preach at Women's Midweek and may share alongside their husbands.
  • Shepherds These are usually older or mature couples, though they can be single, that also help in leading the church. They are similar to what other churches call elders.
  • Administrator These are the people who lead the official and financial portion of the congregation. The ICC did this so that the Evangelists could focus in on leading and evangelizing.
  • Ministry Leaders: These people lead a ministry within the congregation for example, the Latino ministry.
  • Regional Leaders: These are leaders chosen by the Evangelist to lead a "region" of that city. They lead all the Bible Talks in that region. Usually an Evangelist is also a Regional Leader.
  • Web Deacons These are the people who are the leaders in the technical portion of the church (sound, videos, recordings, websites, etc.). In most congregation the Web Deacon has helpers who may or may not be interns.
  • Interns Unlike its usual definition of an apprentice, the ICC uses this as term for those who work, and receive a salary for the church. This is also what Ministry Leaders are and what some BT Leaders are.
  • Bible Talk leaders: These leaders are chosen by either the Regional Leaders or the Evangelist to lead a Bible Talk(BT). They lead a region of the region in small groups. Usually an Evangelist also leads a BT.
  • Disciplers: Disciplers mentor younger Christians into maturity. Discipling is the act of mentoring as they call it. Some people disciple more than one person. NOTE: Even the highest leaders have Disciplers and Evangelists are also Disciplers.
  • Disciples: (AKA members) Disciples refers to every member of the ICC.

Famous quotes containing the words leadership and/or positions:

During the first World War women in the United States had a chance to try their capacities in wider fields of executive leadership in industry. Must we always wait for war to give us opportunity? And must the pendulum always swing back in the busy world of work and workers during times of peace?
    Mary Barnett Gilson (1877–?)

An ... important antidote to American democracy is American gerontocracy. The positions of eminence and authority in Congress are allotted in accordance with length of service, regardless of quality. Superficial observers have long criticized the United States for making a fetish of youth. This is unfair. Uniquely among modern organs of public and private administration, its national legislature rewards senility.
    John Kenneth Galbraith (b. 1908)
