IBMS Groningen Education Type
IBMS focuses on teaching students practically. Students work in different project groups every block with fellow students from different cultures, having an integrated assignment that relates to all other courses that come to complete the educational programme. Students focus on presentation skills, working internationally with a strong business focus.
Training is also provided in specific skills essential to successful future careers, such as giving and receiving feedback, working in groups, intercultural sensitivity, customer orientation and presentation skills.
Academic counseling is provided throughout all phases of the IBMS programme. In the first year, academic advice concentrates on following students’ study progress, helping students cope with the transfer to higher education and determining if the IBMS programme is suitable for the student in general. In the second and subsequent years, the Academic Advisor continues to monitor the students’ study progress, completes (together with the student) a study plan (for the Study Abroad specifically, the study plan is made together with their Study Abroad supervisor) and helps them to solve problems and interpret IBS rules.
