Intercollegiate Horse Show Association - Ivy League Championships

Ivy League Championships

The Ivy League Championship horse show is held in April every year, just after the completion of zone finals. The teams that compete in this show are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. The horse show is run similarly to a regular intercollegiate horse show. The only difference is that a championship ride off is held after each division between the winners of each class in the division to determine the Ivy League Champion. The most recent Ivy League Championship was held at Dartmouth Equestrian Center on April 17, 2010. The 2010 winner was the Dartmouth team. Previous winners of the Ivy League Championship include Cornell (2009), Brown (2008), and Dartmouth (2007).

Famous quotes containing the words ivy and/or league:

A young man, be his merit what it will, can never raise himself; but must, like the ivy round the oak, twine himself round some man of great power and interest.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)

I am not impressed by the Ivy League establishments. Of course they graduate the best—it’s all they’ll take, leaving to others the problem of educating the country. They will give you an education the way the banks will give you money—provided you can prove to their satisfaction that you don’t need it.
    Peter De Vries (b. 1910)
