Controversies

U.A. Inter Media Group Ltd. is owned by Valeriy Khoroshkovsky, the former top-manager of Evraz Group. In 2007 Komersant claimed that Dmytro Firtash and Vitaly Hayduk bought all of the shares of the company. Same information was given from Tymoshenko and Turchinov. All of these claims were denied by the tele-channel and Khoroshkovsky threatening to file a legal suit.

According to critics the channel used to be directly controlled by the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine (united) until the Orange Revolution.

In January 2009 the former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko refused to appear on Inter television programs criticizing the channel's associates of their professional ethics.
