Film, TV or Theatrical Adaptations
Intensity was made into a two-part TV movie in 1997 that first aired in America on the Fox Network. It starred Molly Parker, John C. McGinley, and Tori Paul.
The 2003 French horror film High Tension ("Haute Tension" in the original French), directed by Alexandre Aja, is loosely based on the book. The movie adds a younger brother to the family (who is also murdered), spares the best friend, removes the Ariel character, and changes most of the events after the main characters leave the family's house. Particularly, the most glaring difference the movie incorporated was that the female protagonist is actually the killer, who was later revealed as having split personality, and the guy she thought of as the murderer was nothing but a figment of her imagination.

Famous quotes containing the word theatrical:
“From now on, I think it is safe to predict, neither the Democratic nor the Republican Party will ever nominate for President a candidate without good looks, stage presence, theatrical delivery, and a sense of timing.”
