U.S. Senate Cyber Security Report

The I3P delivered a report titled National Cyber Security Research and Development Challenges: An Industry, Academic and Government Perspective, to U.S. Senators Joseph Lieberman and Susan Collins on February 18, 2009. The report reflects the finding of three forums hosted by the I3P in 2008 that brought together high-level experts from industry, government and academia to identify R&D opportunities that would advance cyber security research in the next five to 10 years. The report contains specific recommendations for technology and policy research that reflect the input of the participants and also the concerns of both the public and private sectors.

Famous quotes containing the words senate, security and/or report:

We have been here over forty years, a longer period than the children of Israel wandered through the wilderness, coming to this Capitol pleading for this recognition of the principle that the Government derives its just powers from the consent of the governed. Mr. Chairman, we ask that you report our resolution favorably if you can but unfavorably if you must; that you report one way or the other, so that the Senate may have the chance to consider it.
    Anna Howard Shaw (1847–1919)

Is a Bill of Rights a security for [religious liberty]? If there were but one sect in America, a Bill of Rights would be a small protection for liberty.... Freedom derives from a multiplicity of sects, which pervade America, and which is the best and only security for religious liberty in any society. For where there is such a variety of sects, there cannot be a majority of any one sect to oppress and persecute the rest.
    James Madison (1751–1836)

The senses interfere everywhere, and mix their own structure with all they report of.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
