Ingrid Marie is a traditional apple.
It was cultivated by accident around 1910 on the premises of a school in Høed on the island of Funen in Denmark. Suspected for many years to originate from Cox's Orange Pippin, it was confirmed in 2003 to be a hybrid of Cox and Danish cultivar Guldborg.
The apple has a red, firm skin and the color continues into the flesh underneath the skin. This suggests a relationship to the “Renetten”, an old German family of apples.
Ingrid-Marie trees grow very well in a moderate warm and humid climate.
