Famous quotes containing the words impossible and/or man:

I look on Sculpture as history. I do not think the Apollo and the Jove impossible in flesh and blood. Every trait the artist recorded in stone, he had seen in life, and better than his copy.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

The will to incessant creation is vulgar, betraying jealousy, envy, and ambition. Assuming that you are something, there is really nothing that you need to do—and yet you do a great deal. Above the “productive” man there is still a higher type.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)
