Political Struggle For Immortality

Though a lot of scientists state that radical life extension, delaying and stopping aging are achievable there are still no an international or national programs focused on stopping ageing or on radical life extension. There are political forces staying for and against immortality. In 2012 in Russia, and then in USA, Israel and Netherlands the pro-immortality Longevity political parties were launched. They aimed to provide political support to anti-ageing and radical life extension research and technologies and want to ensure fastest possible and at the same time soft society transition to the next step -radical life extension, life without ageing, and finally - immortality and aim to make it possible to provide the access to such technologies to the most of the currently living people.

Famous quotes containing the words political, struggle and/or immortality:

Man is naturally a political animal.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)

As regards the celebrated “struggle for life,” it seems to me for the present to have been rather asserted than proved. It does occur, but as the exception; the general aspect of life is not hunger and distress, but rather wealth, luxury, even absurd prodigality—where there is a struggle it is a struggle for power.
    Friedrich Nietzsche (1844–1900)

The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.
    William Faulkner (1897–1962)
