The title "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1978 when a single of that name by Massachusetts "rural rock" group the Blend spent five weeks at #91: this song was written by the Blend's frontman Jim Drown and has no connection to the Gamble/Ross/Williams composition. Another unrelated song of the same title was a single from the Jayhawks' 2000 album Smile; written by Gary Louris and Taylor Rhodes, this "I'm Gonna Make You Love Me" reached #40 on Billboard's Adult Top 40.

A full French cover of the song was made by Claude François in 1969, following his own agreements with the Motown label for the French adaptations. The French title is Où tu veux, quand tu veux (Lit. "Wherever you want, whenever you want")
