I'm Broken - Release and Reception

Release and Reception

"I'm Broken" was released as the band's first single for Far Beyond Driven. Two versions of the single were released. Both contained the b-side "Slaughtered", but each version included a differing pair of live tracks. All live tracks were recorded in Moscow, USSR at the Monsters of Rock concert in 1991. The single garnered the band its second top 40 U.K hit reaching #19 on the UK Singles Chart, making it the band's highest charting single worldwide. It also reached #49 on the Australian Charts and #32 on the Swedish Charts. The song was also nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 1995 Grammy Awards. Allmusic reviewer Eduardo Rivadavia called "I'm Broken" a "wisely chosen first single".

Famous quotes containing the words release and, release and/or reception:

We read poetry because the poets, like ourselves, have been haunted by the inescapable tyranny of time and death; have suffered the pain of loss, and the more wearing, continuous pain of frustration and failure; and have had moods of unlooked-for release and peace. They have known and watched in themselves and others.
    Elizabeth Drew (1887–1965)

As nature requires whirlwinds and cyclones to release its excessive force in a violent revolt against its own existence, so the spirit requires a demonic human being from time to time whose excessive strength rebels against the community of thought and the monotony of morality ... only by looking at those beyond its limits does humanity come to know its own utmost limits.
    Stefan Zweig (18811942)

To aim to convert a man by miracles is a profanation of the soul. A true conversion, a true Christ, is now, as always, to be made by the reception of beautiful sentiments.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
