Life and Career

Volok was born in Kiev, where he graduated from a high school and became a professional athlete. But he unexpectedly decided to change his career and so moved to Moscow, where he graduated from Moscow Art Theater School, in the acting class of acclaimed Russian actor Aleksandr Kalyagin. After his graduation he was invited to work in many major Moscow theaters including Moscow Art Theater, but his life took a different turn once again when he moved to the United States.

Ilia Volok became well-known after he starred as Vladimir Krasin in Air Force One opposite Harrison Ford. He has appeared in more than ninety films and TV serials. He portrayed Master Org in Power Rangers: Wild Force and has featured in recurring roles in General Hospital and The Young and the Restless. He also appeared in Friends as a guest-star.

In addition, Volok frequently performs on stage. The comedy play Fakov in America, which he co-wrote, co-created an starred in as the title character, successfully continued for many performances over a few years. Ilia Volok is a lifetime member of the famous Actors Studio. At present, Ilia Volok is playing a leading part in Cat's Paw by William Mastrozimone, one of the Actors Studio projects.

The character Vladimir Kamarivsky in Electronic Arts video game Battlefield 3, the twelfth entry to the game maker's Battlefield franchise, is modelled after and voiced by Ilia Volok.
