Chart Performance

"If I Ain't Got You" debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number sixty-four on the issue dated March 6, 2004, peaking at number four four months later, on July 3, 2004. It managed to stay on the Hot 100 for forty straight weeks, becoming Keys' longest-running single so far. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, the song attained an extraordinary chart performance: it reached the top spot on May 1, 2004 and stayed there for six non-consecutive weeks, spending fifty-six consecutive weeks altogether. It was also successful on Billboard component charts, reaching number five on the Rhythmic Top 40 and number nine on the Top 40 Mainstream. The single was ultimately placed at number three on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 chart of 2004.

In the United Kingdom, "If I Ain't Got You" debuted and peaked at number eighteen on the UK Singles Chart for the week of April 4, 2004, spending five consecutive weeks on the chart. On September 27, 2009, the single returned to the chart at number fifty-four for a sixth week, which may be attributed to the massive success in that period of her collaboration with Jay-Z, "Empire State of Mind".

Famous quotes containing the words chart and/or performance:

Perhaps in His wisdom the Almighty is trying to show us that a leader may chart the way, may point out the road to lasting peace, but that many leaders and many peoples must do the building.
    Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962)

The value of old age depends upon the person who reaches it. To some men of early performance it is useless. To others, who are late to develop, it just enables them to finish the job.
    Thomas Hardy (1840–1928)
