Icarus Project
The Icarus Project is a mental health movement characterized by the view that many phenomena commonly labeled as mental illness should actually be regarded as "dangerous gifts". The name is derived from Icarus, a hero in Greek mythology, and is metaphorically used to convey that these experiences can lead to "potential flying dangerously close to the sun."

Famous quotes containing the word project:
“Indigenous to Minnesota, and almost completely ignored by its people, are the stark, unornamented, functional clusters of concreteMinnesotas grain elevators. These may be said to express unconsciously all the principles of modernism, being built for use only, with little regard for the tenets of esthetic design.”
—Federal Writers Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
