Ian McDermott was born in London, he is married to an American and spends part of the year in the US.
He had originally planned to become a Buddhist monk in Thailand but after teaching in Higher Education he became a psychotherapist. He studied NLP in the US, brought it back to the UK and became a forefront pioneer in the industry. For over twenty years he has enjoyed being a coach and a successful entrepreneur.
