I Heard A Rumour

"I Heard a Rumour" is a 1987 song recorded by English girl group Bananarama, featured on their Wow! album. It was also featured in the film Disorderlies (starring The Fat Boys) and included on its soundtrack.

"I Heard a Rumour" became one of Bananarama's biggest singles, hitting #14 in their native UK, and climbing to #4 in the U.S., #2 in Canada and #8 in New Zealand. It was also a hit in nightclubs, prompting a top-five placing on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.

Songwriter and music producer Pete Waterman names "I Heard A Rumour", as one of his favorite songs.

The chords and general structure are the same as those of Michael Fortunati's hit "Give Me Up".

The song is included in the PlayStation karaoke game SingStar Anthems.

Famous quotes containing the word heard:

When we start deceiving ourselves into thinking not that we want something or need something, not that it is a pragmatic necessity for us to have it, but that it is a moral imperative that we have it, then is when we join the fashionable madmen, and then is when the thin whine of hysteria is heard in the land, and then is when we are in bad trouble.
    Joan Didion (b. 1934)
