Hutu People
The Hutu /ˈhuːtuː/, also known as the Abahutu, are an ethnic group in Central Africa. They mainly live in Rwanda, Burundi and the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, where they form one of the principal population divisions alongside the Tutsi and the Twa. Due to the history of intermingling and intermarrying of Hutus and Tutsis - as well as their sharing of language, territory, and social and political culture - ethnographers and historians have lately come to agree that Hutu and Tutsis cannot be properly called distinct ethnic groups.
