Human Rights Project
Tanzania’s Human Rights Project is located in the town of Arusha. The attention of this program is directed towards helping female victims of discrimination in their reclaiming of personal property as well as fighting for inheritance rights. The project visits widows nationally around Tanzania specifically Arusha in order to understand the human rights issues they encounter. Also, through microfinancing, this project aids widows providing them with an income. They provide the widows with legal assistance, therefore helping to defend their legal rights. “The project never stops developing and growing, so new issues arise on a regular basis and new strategies are constantly being put in place in order to overcome these issues and help those who are most in need”.

—Italo Calvino (19231985)
“We live in a highly industrialized society and every member of the Black nation must be as academically and technologically developed as possible. To wage a revolution, we need competent teachers, doctors, nurses, electronics experts, chemists, biologists, physicists, political scientists, and so on and so forth. Black women sitting at home reading bedtime stories to their children are just not going to make it.”

“In 1862 the congregation of the church forwarded the church bell to General Beauregard to be melted into cannon, hoping that its gentle tones, that have so often called us to the House of God, may be transmuted into wars resounding rhyme to repel the ruthless invader from the beautiful land God, in his goodness, has given us.”
—Federal Writers Project Of The Wor, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)
