Famous quotes containing the words hum, stand and/or united:

    Buz, quoth the blue fly,
    Hum, quoth the bee,
    Buz and hum they cry,
    And so do we:
In his ear, in his nose, thus, do you see?
He ate the dormouse, else it was he.
    Ben Jonson (1572–1637)

What could be wanting ... but to have wrote a book.... Little boots it to the subtle speculatist to stand single in his opinions,—unless he gives them proper vent.
    Laurence Sterne (1713–1768)

    Marc Fumaroli (b. 1932)
