Hryniewiecki Family
Hryniewiecki is the surname of two noble Polish families. The name means "Descendant of Hrynie" with the suffix "wiecki", which could mean two things: either 1) "to be awoken, watchful" or 2) from the Latin translation, and assuming it derived from a pet form of Grzegorz, or gregis, meaning "herd" or "flock" (from the Christian image of the Good Shepherd).
The ancestral seat of the family was established in 1632 in the city of Bielz.
