- Neferet - Main villain in the books, assassin and former High Priestess, now immortal Consort of Darkness and witch Queen of the Tsi Sgili.
- Aphrodite LaFont - Former hag from hell and Zoey's enemy in the first book. Oracle and Propethess, friend of the gang.
- Stevie Rae - Zoey's best friend. First Turned red vampyre in history. Also an affinity for Earth.
- Erin Bates - Fledgling with affinity for Water.
- Shaunee Cole - Fledgling with affinity for Fire
- Damien Maslin - Fledgling with affinity for Air
- Heath Luck - Zoey's almost ex-boyfriend. They shared an Imprint. Killed by Kalona and Neferet, reincarnated in Aurox.
- Nyx - Goddess to the Vampyres, love of Kalona. Erebus is her Consort
- Erik Night - Erik Night was one of Zoey Redbird's boyfriends. Erik has a talent for acting and reciting poetry.
- Kalona - Erebus brother, fallen immortal Guardian of Nyx. In love with her, father of Rephaim and the Raven Mockers.
- Darius - Zoey's Guardian and Aphrodite's Warrior.
- Loren Blake - Laureate Poet, Zoey's lover and Neferet's lover and puppet. Killed by Neferet.
- Kramisha - Zoey's Poet Laureate
- Dragon Lankford - Anastasia's Husband, Fencing Instructor. Killed by Aurox in Neferet's command.
- Anastasia Lankford - Dragons Wife, Teacher of Spells and Rituals.
- Sylvia Redbird - Zoey's grandmother
- James Stark - Zoey's Warrior and Guardian. A Red Vampyre
- Jack Twist - Damien boyfriend. Killed by Neferet.
- Rephaim - Kalona's favorite Raven Mocker son. Stevie Rae's lover
- Shaylin Ruede - Fledgling with affinity for True Sight and later for Water
- Nisroc-Kalona's second eldest son and second most evolved, took care of his brothers while Kalona and Rephaim were away.
