Future
Currently the hotel's parking structure has been demolished and a new high-rise building is being constructed in its place. The tower will include 48 stories, and will rise to 156 meters. When complete in 2011, it is expected to be the 2nd tallest tower in the city, after the Living Shangri-La Tower. Both of these developments are new mixed use hotel/residences towers on Georgia Street.

Famous quotes containing the word future:
“Common sense should tell us that reading is the ultimate weapon—destroying ignorance, poverty and despair before they can destroy us. A nation that doesn’t read much doesn’t know much. And a nation that doesn’t know much is more likely to make poor choices in the home, the marketplace, the jury box and the voting booth...The challenge, therefore, is to convince future generations of children that carrying a book is more rewarding than carrying guns.”
—Jim Trelease (20th century)
“In no nation are the institutions of progress more advanced. In no nation are the fruits of accomplishment more secure. In no nation is the government more worthy of respect. No country is more loved by its people. I have an abiding faith in their capacity, integrity and high purpose. I have no fears for the future of our country. It is bright with hope.”
—Herbert Hoover (1874–1964)
“At sixty, I would like to give my future back its vistas of uncertainty.”
—Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
