Hotel Cafe Tour

The Hotel Cafe Tour is the brainchild of Cary Brothers, a North American singer-songwriter, who has been a regular performer at the Hotel Café venue in Hollywood. Having played in the Hotel Cafe for many years, and enjoyed its relaxed but stimulating culture where artists support each other musically, he suggested taking it on the road. His idea was welcomed by other Hotel Cafe frequenters including rising star Meiko, Greg Laswell, Tom McRae, Joe Purdy, Jim Bianco, Steve Reynolds, Brian Wright, and others. For the last 4 years, the Tour has traveled around various venues in the States. In 2006, Tom McRae took the Tour to the UK, and in 2008, McRae brought it back to the UK and also took it further afield, to continental Europe.

Famous quotes containing the words hotel, cafe and/or tour:

The hotel was once where things coalesced, where you could meet both townspeople and travelers. Not so in a motel. No matter how you build it, the motel remains the haunt of the quick and dirty, where the only locals are Chamber of Commerce boys every fourth Thursday. Who ever heard the returning traveler exclaim over one of the great motels of the world he stayed in? Motels can be big, but never grand.
William Least Heat Moon [William Trogdon] (b. 1939)

The train was crammed, the heat stifling. We feel out of sorts, but do not quite know if we are hungry or drowsy. But when we have fed and slept, life will regain its looks, and the American instruments will make music in the merry cafe described by our friend Lange. And then, sometime later, we die.
    Vladimir Nabokov (1899–1977)

Left Washington, September 6, on a tour through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia.... Absent nineteen days. Received every where heartily. The country is again one and united! I am very happy to be able to feel that the course taken has turned out so well.
    Rutherford Birchard Hayes (1822–1893)
