Famous quotes containing the words hot, wax and/or records:
“The fact that the mental health establishment has equated separation with health, equated womens morality with soft-heartedness, and placed mothers on the psychological hot seat has taken a toll on modern mothers.”
—Ron Taffel (20th century)
“We too had many pretty toys when young;
A law indifferent to blame or praise,
To bribe or threat; habits that made old wrong
Melt down, as it were wax in the suns rays;
Public opinion ripening for so long
We thought it would outlive all future days.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“The camera relieves us of the burden of memory. It surveys us like God, and it surveys for us. Yet no other god has been so cynical, for the camera records in order to forget.”
—John Berger (b. 1926)
