Post-playing Career
Smith served as the club pro at Detroit Golf Club in Detroit, Michigan for several years following his professional career. He was president of the Professional Golfers' Association of America from 1952 to 1954.
Smith died in Detroit, Michigan of Hodgkin's Disease.
