Horst Mahler - Education and Career

Education and Career

Mahler studied law at the Free University of Berlin with support of the German National Merit Foundation. In 1964 he founded a law firm in Berlin and practised microeconomic law. In 1966 he successfully argued a case before the European Court of Human Rights.

As a young lawyer, Mahler defended Andreas Baader, Gudrun Ensslin, and Rudi Dutschke.
