Home Movies (TV series)

Home Movies is an American animated television sitcom that was originally broadcast between 1999 and 2004. Brendon Small was the creator, head writer, and lead musician of Home Movies. Jon Benjamin, Melissa Bardin Galsky and Janine Ditullio also lent their voices to the show. The plot surrounds eight-year-old Brendon, who makes films with his friends Melissa Robbins and Jason Penopolis in his spare time. He lives with his divorced mother, Paula, and his baby sister, Josie. He is also friends with his alcoholic, short-tempered soccer coach, John McGuirk. Home Movies developed somewhat of a cult following during its run, and is still considered a cult show to this day.

Home Movies was produced by Soup2Nuts, and originally aired on United Paramount Network but was canceled after 5 episodes. The show was then picked up by Cartoon Network, and was the first program to be aired on the Sunday night block of the original Adult Swim animation showcase. As part of Adult Swim, it finished the first season and was picked up for three more. The show can currently be seen on Adult Swim every Saturday at 9pm and on On Demand. It also ran on YTV in Canada. It can currently be seen on Netflix.

Co-creator Small would later go on to help create the Adult Swim animated series Metalocalypse and Bouchard would go on to create the animated Bob's Burgers for the Fox network.
