HMS Argenta - Cargo Ship

Cargo Ship

Argenta's career as a cargo ship was short. As early as November 1919, there were some signs of leakage, and the ship was out of service from late 1921. Condemned and declared unseaworthy in May 1922, she was then sold for use as a prison ship (a.k.a. prison hulk) by the British Royal Navy.

Famous quotes containing the words cargo and/or ship:

Nitrates and phosphates for ammunition. The seeds of war. They’re loading a full cargo of death. And when that ship takes it home, the world will die a little more.
Earl Felton, and Richard Fleischer. Captain Nemo (James Mason)

You live on hopes, I guess. You always dream that someday you might have a lot of money, your ship might come in. But if the ship doesn’t come in, I’m going to work as long as I can.
    Marion Gray (b. c. 1914)
