H.I.V.E. (series) - Plans and Protocols

Plans and Protocols

  • Tabula Rasa – Overlord’s plan of releasing a swarm of Animus nanites into the world in Zero Hour and letting them spread inexorably across the planet, enslaving everyone who came into contact with it. Although Overlord managed to release the nanites at the end of Zero Hour, Otto persuaded the President of the United States to give him the code to the nuclear missile satellite “Thor’s Hammer” in order to blow up the Animus nanites and destroy them.
  • Zero Hour – Nero and Diabolus Darkdoom’s plan of bringing together all of H.I.V.E.’s best ex-students by activating a device implanted in their skulls to create a small army to battle Overlord and the Disciples.
  • Renaissance Initiative – Overlord’s plan to fully recreate himself by taking his consciousness out of Number One’s old and dying body and putting it inside Otto (his clone), so that he would be young again and able to use Otto’s ability to communicate with computers to take over the world.
  • Overlord Protocol – A way of rebuilding Overlord by connecting the codes which he needed to fully integrate with the world’s computer systems. If the codes came into Overlord’s possession, he would be able to control all of the computers in the world. Xiu Mei Chen knew that he could not be allowed to do this, she hid the codes in two twin yin-yang amulets. She gave one amulet to Wing, and sent the other to Nero.
  • Escape Velocity – The way to reach Number One’s headquarters which are found in space by riding in a sleek black rocket fast enough to break hold of the Earth’s gravity without being noticed by any enemy satellites. These speeds would be instantly lethal if not travelling in Number One’s special craft.
  • The Hunt – A filed assessment exercise at H.I.V.E. where the students are taken to an undisclosed wilderness location and are given a one hour head start before elite G.L.O.V.E. forces, led by Raven, are sent after them. They have to evade capture for as long as possible and nobody has ever evaded the trackers for more than twenty-four hours. Otto and the other Alpha students in his year all set off to the Hunt in Aftershock, but the location had been given to Anastasia Furan (the new leader of the Disciples), which led to the deaths of all of the team of G.L.O.V.E. trackers and the deaths of fifteen students. All of the students who survived were kidnapped and taken to the Glasshouse by Anastasia Furan (these students included Laura, Nigel, Tom and Penny), but Raven managed to escape with Otto, Wing, Shelby and Franz.
  • The Ninety-Three Percenter – The name given to one of the Arctic survival courses that H.I.V.E. students must complete. It was named this because 93% is the average percentage of students who return to H.I.V.E. alive. Otto and the rest of the Alphas in his year set off to the Ninety-Three Percenter in dreadnought, but they were attacked by Jason Drake when they were dropping Nero off on Diabolus Darkdoom’s Dreadnought aircraft, so they never made it to the Ninety-Three Percenter site.
  • Panacea - A new plan for an American system of repairing damaged military vehicles on the battlefield by building the vehicles with a dormant layer of nanites in their armour, which meant that if the vehicle was damaged, then the nanites would be exposed to the air and work on repairing the damaged area. In Zero Hour, Overlord used these Panacea nanites and combined them with Animus to create a new generation of Animus that he planned to release on the world as part of his plan called “Tabula Rasa”, but Otto managed to use a nuclear missile called Thor's Hammer to destroy all of the new generation of Animus nanites.
  • Sleepwalker Protocol – A way of sedating students at H.I.V.E. by releasing certain thin white gases into their dormitories using the air conditioning. Although the protocol is supposed to only be used in emergencies, the Contessa used it to sedate Otto, Wing, Shelby and Laura in Escape Velocity so that they could be taken to Overlord.
  • Project Absalom –Anastasia Furan's plan to use Overlord's way of cloning Otto Malpense to clone 12 other children. It was mentioned in Deadlock. Zero was a prototype created to test the abilities of the cloned children. When Overlord died in Zero Hour, the Disciples did not want to continue Project Absalom so they wanted to test the last batch of subjects and stop the project. However, the last batch of test subjects proved to be successful and as a result, they continued with the project.

Famous quotes containing the words plans and and/or plans:

In order to become spoiled ... a child has to be able to want things as well as need them. He has to be able to see himself as a being who is separate from everyone else.... A baby is none of these things. He feels a need and he expresses it. He is not intellectually capable of working out involved plans and ideas like “Can I make her give me...?” “If I make enough fuss he will...?” “They let me do ... yesterday and I want to do it again today so I’ll....”
    Penelope Leach (20th century)

The fellow parent you are scared to call is as appalled by the clique’s plans as you are. . . . The other parent is as happy to hear from you as you would be to hear from him.
    Fred G. Gosman (20th century)
