Famous quotes containing the words history of, history and/or school:

The history of philosophy is to a great extent that of a certain clash of human temperaments.
    William James (1842–1910)

    A people without history
Is not redeemed from time, for history is a pattern
    Of timeless moments.
    —T.S. (Thomas Stearns)

    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)
