Nine in A Row
Rangers had previously won nine titles in a row before during the period directly before and following into the Second World War. However the league championships won during wartime are not officially recongised. Due to the depletion of the squads as players left to help with the war effort, the Scottish Football Association suspended legitimate competitions and set up regional league competitions in their place.
