About

Under Artistic Director Steven Atkinson, the HighTide Festival in Suffolk has become one of the UK's leading theatre events. Throughout the year HighTide tour their productions across the UK and internationally. Since 2007 they have partnered with many of the world's leading theatre companies to co-produce new playwrights, including: the National Theatre, Bush Theatre, Soho Theatre, The Old Vic, Latitude Festival, Nuffield Theatre, Headlong, BAC, Watford Palace Theatre, Theatre 503, Aldeburgh Music, Eastern Angles, nabokov, Macrobert, to London's West End, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Australian National Play Festival and The Public Theater, New York.

HighTide, in partnership with IdeasTap, receives, considers and produces new plays from all around the world. HighTide receives over 1,000 unsolicited scripts annually and every play is read. They offer bespoke development opportunities for playwrights throughout the year. The HighTide Academy is an annual summer school, working with young people in the East of England to discover new artists and new audiences.

Lansons Communications, a public relations agency, host HighTide's administrative offices in-kind within their Clerkenwell offices. This innovative partnership between a business and charity has won four Corporate Engagement Awards (2012 & 2011), was nominated for an Arts & Business 2010 award, and has been profiled by The Guardian and the Evening Standard.
