High Temperature Insulation Wool (HTIW)
High Temperature Insulation Wool is an accumulation of fibres of different lengths and diameters, produced synthetically from mineral raw materials. The group of the HTIWs include amorphous Alkaline Earth Silicate Wool (AES) and Aluminom Silicate Wool (ASW) as well as Polycrystalline Wool (PCW) (VDI 3469; DIN-EN 1094) with a classification temperatures >1000 °C. Besides the differences in the chemical composition, manmade fibres have parallel edges in contrast to natural fibres.

Famous quotes containing the words high, temperature and/or wool:
“Im for a high libido president! I applaud him if he gets up and picks up women.”
—Camille Paglia (b. 1947)
“This pond never breaks up so soon as the others in this neighborhood, on account both of its greater depth and its having no stream passing through it to melt or wear away the ice.... It indicates better than any water hereabouts the absolute progress of the season, being least affected by transient changes of temperature. A severe cold of a few days duration in March may very much retard the opening of the former ponds, while the temperature of Walden increases almost uninterruptedly.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“After all, the wool of a black sheep is just as warm.”
—Ernest Lehman (b. 1920)
