High-speed Rail in Taiwan - Services

Services

According to the March-2103 timetable of THSR ,it provide 915per week train services for operation, system start from 06:30 to 24:00 everyday. Basically speaking, most of the southbound trains dispatch from Taipei station and northbound train dispatch from Zuoying. But it still has few trains operate just between Taipei – Taichung or Zuoying – Taichung.

Southbound trains are designated by odd train numbers. Northbound trains have the same numbering scheme, but have even train numbers. With the January 18, 2008, timetable, THSRC introduced train services that only operate on certain days of the week, designated by train numbers in the 1xxx range. Standard and Business Car compartments are available aboard each train, with the latter offering wider seating, individual audio entertainment systems, and power outlets for portable electronics in each seat. By August 2012, implementation of 4G WiMAX on-board trains is expected to allow smooth wireless broadband services, thus becoming the first high-speed ground transportation system equipped with this service.

Famous quotes containing the word services:

The community and family networks which helped sustain earlier generations have become scarcer for growing numbers of young parents. Those who lack links to these traditional sources of support are hard-pressed to find other resources, given the emphasis in our society on providing treatment services, rather than preventive services and support for health maintenance and well-being.
    Bernice Weissbourd (20th century)

    It seems I impregnated Marge
So I do rather feel, by and large,
    Some cash should be tendered
    For services rendered,
But I can’t quite decide what to charge.
    Anonymous.

Men will say that in supporting their wives, in furnishing them with houses and food and clothes, they are giving the women as much money as they could ever hope to earn by any other profession. I grant it; but between the independent wage-earner and the one who is given his keep for his services is the difference between the free-born and the chattel.
    Elizabeth M. Gilmer (1861–1951)
