The Higgs sector (also known as the God sector) is the collection of quantum fields and/or particles that exists in particle physics. These fields and/or particles are responsible for the Higgs mechanism, i.e. for the spontaneous symmetry breaking of a physical system. In this case, the word "sector" refers to a subgroup of the total set of fields and particles.
