Geology
Major rocks along this trail include limestone, sandstone, chalk, chert, feldspar, obsidian, and other sedimentary rocks, as well as some igneous ones. Rocks by the Colorado River are often heavily weathered. Some of the limestone is fossiliferous, mostly representing bivalves.
