Herman Slater - Philosophy

Philosophy

Slater was a self-professed conservative who opposed drugs, promiscuity, and love magick. He criticised witches and pagans who indulged in drugs and sex magick. His blunt opinions made him unpopular. Despite his outward appearances/persona, he did not practice what he preached. Slater was known for keeping many lovers outside of his relationship with Buczynski.

Famous quotes containing the word philosophy:

    And new Philosophy calls all in doubt,
    The element of fire is quite put out;
    The Sun is lost, and th’earth, and no mans wit
    Can well direct him where to look for it.
    John Donne (c. 1572–1631)

    Of your philosophy you make no use
    If you give place to accidental evils.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    Mr. Alcott seems to have sat down for the winter. He has got Plato and other books to read. He is as large-featured and hospitable to traveling thoughts and thinkers as ever; but with the same Connecticut philosophy as ever, mingled with what is better. If he would only stand upright and toe the line!—though he were to put off several degrees of largeness, and put on a considerable degree of littleness. After all, I think we must call him particularly your man.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
