White Bryony
This herb was fenced in when it was found on property to protect it; the leaves resemble a child, and digging it up would destroy their own happiness. It is said that the stems and leaves from this plant were used in spells and incantations.

Famous quotes containing the word white:
“Through throats where many rivers meet, the curlews cry,
Under the conceiving moon, on the high chalk hill,
And there this night I walk in the white giants thigh
Where barrren as boulders women lie longing still
To labour and love though they lay down long ago.”
—Dylan Thomas (19141953)
