Honours
In 1988, Kretzmer was elected a Chevalier of L’Ordre Des Arts Et Des Lettres. He received the Jimmy Kennedy Award (a division of the Ivor Novello Awards) for services to songwriting. In 1996, he was elected an Honorary Doctor of Letters at Richmond College. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2011 New Year Honours for services to music.
