Hong Kong Bank Notes
Henry Steiner designs banknotes for the Standard Chartered Bank since 1975. In 2003, Henry Steiner updated the designs incorporating the latest anti-counterfeiting technology. The notes appear in five denominations and showcase a hierarchy of aquatic, amphibious, terrestrial, and celestial creatures. Famous quotes containing the words bank and/or notes:
“A self is, by its very essence, a being with a past. One must look lengthwise backwards in the stream of time in order to see the self, or its shadow, now moving with the stream, now eddying in the currents from bank to bank of its channel, and now strenuously straining onwards in the pursuit of its chosen good.”
—Josiah Royce (18551916)
“A little black thing among the snow
Crying weep, weep, in notes of woe!
Where are thy father & mother? say?
They are both gone up to the church to pray.”
—William Blake (17571827)
