Helmholtz Free Energy - Application To Fundamental Equations of State

Application To Fundamental Equations of State

The Helmholtz free energy function for a pure substance (together with its partial derivatives) can be used to determine all other thermodynamic properties for the substance. See, for example, the equations of state for water, as given by the IAPWS in their IAPWS-95 release.

Famous quotes containing the words application to, application, fundamental and/or state:

If you would be a favourite of your king, address yourself to his weaknesses. An application to his reason will seldom prove very successful.

The best political economy is the care and culture of men; for, in these crises, all are ruined except such as are proper individuals, capable of thought, and of new choice and the application of their talent to new labor.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

These traits together make up the well-known psychology of the spoilt child.
    José Ortega Y Gasset (1883–1955)
