Reception
The movie debuted poorly. The movie grossed $12,525,537 in the United States and Canada. The film received mixed reviews. Most of the criticism was directed towards the design of the Cenobites, many fans remarking they appeared like "knock-off Borg extras". As of June 2012 the film has a 18% Rotten status on Rotten Tomatoes.
