Hello Big Man is singer-songwriter Carly Simon's eleventh studio album (twelfth overall), released in 1983. It is also her last album for Warner Bros. Records (and for what became the Warner Music Group, having also spent time with Elektra Records), as it was a failure commercially despite some reasonable critical reviews. The album featured Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on a number of tracks, including one Bob Marley cover.
The music video for the single "You Know What to Do", directed by Dominic Orlando from a concept by Simon, was filmed on location in Martha's Vineyard, at her home and in the surrounding woods.

Famous quotes containing the words big man, big and/or man:
“The hero was distinguished by his achievement; the celebrity by his image or trademark. The hero created himself; the celebrity is created by the media. The hero was a big man; the celebrity is a big name.”
—Daniel J. Boorstin (b. 1914)
“... the big courageous acts of life are those one never hears of and only suspects from having been through like experience. It takes real courage to do battle in the unspectacular task. We always listen for the applause of our co-workers. He is courageous who plods on, unlettered and unknown.... In the last analysis it is this courage, developing between man and his limitations, that brings success.”
—Alice Foote MacDougall (18671945)
“But thou, O King, I bid remember me, unwept, unburied,
Heap up mine arms, be tomb by sea-bord, and inscribed:
A man of no fortune, and with a name to come.”
—Ezra Pound (18851972)
