Development
HelenOS development is community-driven. The developer community consists of a small core team, mainly staff and former and contemporary students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague, and a number of contributors around the world. In 2011, HelenOS participated in the Google Summer of Code as a mentoring organization.
The source code of HelenOS is published under the BSD licence, while some third-party components are available under the GNU General Public License. Both of these licences are free software licences, making HelenOS free software.

Famous quotes containing the word development:
“The man, or the boy, in his development is psychologically deterred from incorporating serving characteristics by an easily observable fact: there are already people around who are clearly meant to serve and they are girls and women. To perform the activities these people are doing is to risk being, and being thought of, and thinking of oneself, as a woman. This has been made a terrifying prospect and has been made to constitute a major threat to masculine identity.”
—Jean Baker Miller (20th century)
“Ive always been impressed by the different paths babies take in their physical development on the way to walking. Its rare to see a behavior that starts out with such wide natural variation, yet becomes so uniform after only a few months.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
“Theories of child development and guidelines for parents are not cast in stone. They are constantly changing and adapting to new information and new pressures. There is no right way, just as there are no magic incantations that will always painlessly resolve a childs problems.”
—Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
