Heavy Industries Taxila - HIT Education City

HIT Education City

HITEC University has been conceived as a part of HIT Education City (HITEC). The city has already established instructional programmes at school and college levels. The main objective of educational programmes has been the preparation of youth who could catalyze a well knit society with accumulation of positive social capital. As a part of the same vision HIT has undertaken the task of establishing a high quality higher education institution in the name of HITEC University. This has become imperative in view of the expanding frontiers of knowledge which have caused intense global competition in economic development. Since HIT itself is involved in high level production of machinery and equipment, it is all the more necessary that it receives research support from a knowledge generating institution for improvement, innovation and development. The proposed University is likely to fulfill this role.

Famous quotes containing the words hit, education and/or city:

A really tight friendship is when you start to really care about the person. If he gets sick, you kind of start worrying about him—or if he gets hit by a car. An everyday friend, you say, I know that kid, he’s all right, and you don’t really think much of him. But a close friend you worry about more than yourself. Well, maybe not more, but about the same.
—Anonymous Fifteen-Year-Old Boy. As quoted in Children’s Friendships by Zick Rubin, ch. 3 (1980)

The Cairo conference ... is about a complicated web of education and employment, consumption and poverty, development and health care. It is also about whether governments will follow where women have so clearly led them, toward safe, simple and reliable choices in family planning. While Cairo crackles with conflict, in the homes of the world the orthodoxies have been duly heard, and roundly ignored.
    Anna Quindlen (b. 1952)

I don’t like the city better, the more I see it, but worse. I am ashamed of my eyes that behold it. It is a thousand times meaner than I could have imagined.... The pigs in the street are the most respectable part of the population.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
