Heaviest Trains

The heaviest trains in the world are freight trains hauling bulk commodities such as coal and iron ore. One might distinguish between regular operations, and occasional record breaking runs. One might also distinguish between the total weight of the locomotives and its train of wagons, and the total payload.

Famous quotes containing the words heaviest and/or trains:

Money and time are the heaviest burdens of life, and ... the unhappiest of all mortals are those who have more of either than they know how to use.
    Samuel Johnson (1709–1784)

Conventions, at the present moment, are really menaced. The most striking sign of this is that people are now making unconventionality a social virtue, instead of an unsocial vice. The switches have been opened, and the laden trains must take their chance of a destination.
    Katharine Fullerton Gerould (1879–1944)
