Health Services Union - Branch Structure

Branch Structure

The HSU contains multiple branches in many states. This is unusual in Australian trade unions. Branches are sub-divided by occupation. For example, the Victorian Psychologists Association Inc is an organisation covering registered Psychologists in Victoria. The association negotiates terms and conditions of employment for employee psychologists. It along with the Medical Scientists Association of Victoria and the Association of Hospital Pharmacists are component Associations of the Health Services Union of Australia HSUA Victoria No 4 Branch.

Famous quotes containing the words branch and/or structure:

In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

Each structure and institution here was so primitive that you could at once refer it to its source; but our buildings commonly suggest neither their origin nor their purpose.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
