Audience
The target audience is people who live and work within a three mile radius of the centre of Hayes in the south of the London Borough of Hillingdon.
The station is non-commercial - it is not obligated to sell advertisements in order to remain operational. This gives autonomy with format, allowing a variety of tastes and musical genres to be accommodated in programming. For example, Brooke Burfitt speaks with local people on her weekday morning show, Hughie Dixon plays indie rock on Tuesday evenings, and Mandeep Panesar showcases urban music on Wednesday evenings.

Famous quotes containing the word audience:
“We are born at the rise of the curtain and we die with its fall, and every night in the presence of our patrons we write our new creation, and every night it is blotted out forever; and of what use is it to say to audience or to critic, Ah, but you should have seen me last Tuesday?”
—Michéal MacLiammóir (18991978)
“The Taylor and the Painter often contribute to the Success of a Tragedy more than the Poet. Scenes affect ordinary Minds as much as Speeches; and our Actors are very sensible, that a well-dressed Play has sometimes brought them as full Audiences, as a well-written one.... But however the Show and Outside of the Tragedy may work upon the Vulgar, the more understanding Part of the Audience immediately see through it, and despise it.”
—Joseph Addison (16721719)
“Popular art is normally decried as vulgar by the cultivated people of its time; then it loses favor with its original audience as a new generation grows up; then it begins to merge into the softer lighting of quaint, and cultivated people become interested in it, and finally it begins to take on the archaic dignity of the primitive.”
—Northrop Frye (b. 1912)
